Delivery of Awards to the Winners of the Vth International Festival of Short Films: Kharkiv Lilac


The Palace of students of the National University: Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy of Ukraine hosted the solemn ceremony of closure of the V International Festival of Short Films: Kharkiv Lilac. The event was attended by Head of Press and Information Office of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Co-chairperson of the Festival organizing committee Victoria Marenich; Honorary President of the Festival,   French actress Mylene Demongeot; French actress Michelle Mercier; Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Kharkiv Jan Granat; Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, Chairman of the Jury Vladimir Fokin.

Grand Prix of the Festival was awarded to the film “The Puritans” by American director Sean Robinson. The winner in the category Best Fiction Film is Patryk Jurek from Poland with the film “Emptiness”(«Vocuus»), the nomination Best Non-fiction Film was awarded to Riley Leung, the PRC, the film “More than ice cream Wong Kwon”.

In the category Best Director the winner was the director from the UK Irina Izmestieva, who presented the film "Picture perfect”; in the category Best Animated Film the winner is Anna Shepilova, Russia, with her animated film “It's raining”. The prize in the category Best Screenplay was awarded to Tatiana Buditskaya from Russia for the film "Simple Woman's Joy", and the prize for Best Cinematography went to Martin Rosete, Spain, for the film “Voice over”.

Mylene Demongeot Prize was awarded to the film by Stephane Guerout "007 Contre Attaque” (France). "I chose this French film. This is a funny and touching story. It is interesting, but this film was created by father and son - just not the case when a strict father tells his son: "What the heck are you doing?" - said the actress.

This year there were several new nominations. Jury Prize: For Search of Historical Truth was given to Andrey Ous and Olga Belogub for the film "Unlucky Star" (Ukraine), and Jury Prize in the category Brevity Is the Soul of Wit was given to Anti Naulainen, Estonia, for his work "Parrot Peeter Aurelius” which runs 92 seconds.
